The pressure that some parents put on their children is too much for them to take at times, and the don’t know what to do. Some turn to their friends, some move out with other family or in with a friend. Worst case scenario: drugs, alcohol, even cutting and eating disorders. People look at these kids as the mess-ups, the ones who will never make it in the world because no one will ever help them out of these growing habits.

The fact that people are making it so public does not help these troubled youths any. It brings them even closer to the reality that these things are at their finger tips, able to be grabbed and embraced at any moment. The youths are more than often caught, and even though people think that there is nothing for them to do and no where for them to go, there is one place that does take them in, a place built special for all sorts of addictions and all sorts of troubles that they got themselves into. A place that also acts as a learning centre.

This place is called Brighter Horizon. While these youths are here, they resume their regular schooling, as well as a class for their specific needs. This place got located just near Palm Harbor, right on the beach. The beach, as some feel, heals the best and does the best for them to cleanse themselves of these habits, these addictions. What better place than Florida, in which it is all beach? Whether it helps or not, these kids are here until the doctors say they’re healthy, and not a day sooner.

Welcome to the Salem Institute of Witches and Wizards

The school was buzzing after the announcement was made: the school was being invited to spend an entire term at the Salem Institute of Witches and Wizards in America. All students in fifth, sixth and seventh years may attend with permission from their parents. While the first, second, third and fourth years were complaining about how unfair it was they were missing out, the fifth, sixth and seventh years were excited and making plans for their big trip to the United States next term.

The students of Salem Institute were pretty excited themselves. A whole term with students from Europe! A few were less than enthused and planned to make their guests’ stay as hellish as possible.

It’s finally here, August 30th. The students are boarding the boat that will take them across the Atlantic, then take a train to the town outside of the campus- not unlike Hogsmeade - arriving on the evening of September 1st. Their bags are packed- they’re ready to go.
